This year I bought a mossberg 835 and it about killed my shoulder. Today I bought a simms vibration lab recoil pad and man does it help. I shot it 9 times today and my shoulder wasn't sore at all and that was shooting 3 1/2's. If yours kicks as bad as mine you might want to give on of these pads a try, the difference in shooting with one and without one is like night and day.

Funny how things work out....
I was just (literally five minutes ago) outside patterning in my gun, and I could not take it anymore.
Even after a week of shooting only 3"ers, my shoulder is toast, and the pain is really really unbearable. It really is wierd, cause it didnt bother me a week ago, now the pain is just ultra intense.
Anyway, thanks for the reivew and the link, RebelHog, I just ordered a recoil pad and am really looking forward to getting it on my 835

The one I bought actualy didn't fit I think it was designed for a newer model gun but after about 2 minutes on a bench grinder I filled of the piece of plastic on the back of the pad and now it fits like a glove.
