Not sure how many of you made it to the NWTF convention this past week. What a great time. I used to work for the NWTF and it was my first time back since leaving there almost two years ago. Great to see all the folks.
I have a new turkey blog that I'm going to be doing throughout the upcoming spring season and even aftr that. Ihave posted some thoughts, news and pics of some of the awesome turkey calls that were sold off as part of the Grand National Callmaking contest. Check them out at www.outdoorlife.blogs.com/strutzone.
Also, I'd love to hear from all of you from time to time to hear how your hunts are going, any questions you might have, and even see some pics of your success. I can be reached on the blog. Hope to hear from you all.

I went on Sat. met some pro staff from many of the vendors, was really disappointed in Micheal Waddel, just seemed out of touch and almost unapproachable, probably tired. enjoyed the calling contest. Ran into Knight and Hale at BPS afterwards.

Convention was in Nashville. Not sure if it goes there again next year or not. Probably some of you other guys know for sure. It's definitely worth checking out for a day or two.
As for the comment on Michael Waddell, that doesn't sound like him at all. He's usually great with the crowds. You might be right, he might have just been wore out. He get's hit constantly and also has a lot of work to do while he is there.
He's a good guy to be sure.

It'll be in Nashville next year, then I think to Atlanta the next year, then back to Nashville the year after. Not for sure after Atlanta, but I think that's what I heard. I'm sure Michael Waddell was worn out. We didn't have nearly the number of people to talk to as he did, and it took us most of the next week to recover. It just drains you to be on your feet dealing with the public at such a fast pace for several days in a row. We had a blast, and will be back next year peddling our calls and talking to other turkey hunters.
