Default Turkey Fan?

How do you prepare a turkey fan for a wall plaque? I'm worried the feathers will get loose if I mess it up.

Thanks,

If you go by that it will take you all day. It shouldn't take but an hour or less to get the job done. I can have it pinned on a board(cardboard) ready to dry in less than an hour. If you get most of the flesh and fat off all you need to put on the base of the fan is borax. You can buy that at Walmart or any grocery store. I let mine dry about two weeks before I display it. The feathers won't fall out or draw up. Make sure you don't cut too much flesh though and separate the tail feathers. Even if there is a little flesh left on the base of the fan the borax will preserve it and it won't smell. Too much left and it will take forever to dry and it may smell a bit.

You need to getallthe flesh off of it and rub borax into it to preserve it and it will get bugs in it to if you don't. Not to mention the smell !!!
