Right now I am using a Mossberg 835, 28" barrel I believe with an Undertaker choke. Using Federal #5s, 3" Flight Control.
For some time I have been thinking that the undertaker is not giving me a tight enough pattern. I believe it is a .690. The question is, I have been thinking of going to one, like the Briley with a .670, I believe it is? Yet I hear that smaller might not always be better.
The question is, should I try to get one that is smaller? All seem to be the same size or like .005 difference but the Brileys seem to be the smallest for the 835.

Before you buy another choke I would try some other brands of turkey loads... Have you tryed the Win Extended Range loads yet???
I just used my factory full in my 870, and the Fed heavey Weight FC loads shot great...

Try the StarDot, great patterns with my835 (soon to be replaced as per my above post)....
I shoot Win HV 3.5" #5's, and it is a tight and dense pattern
Another good choke is the Northwind XXXF, again with the same load.
Open the wallet, patterning is NOT cheap!

opening wallet is not hard, i have more shells in a wood crate then I will ever use....... just havent been happy with the pattern though it has dropped all my turkeys....... if my calculations and research is right the undertaker, is .725. So I guess anything smaller might help a little, it just seems to open pattern. I see all these shots in a 10" or the vitals, but mine is just not delivering with the undertaker! [&:]

And another question, when the choke says .670, that is the inner diameter right? Just makiing sure, guess I will have to pull the micrometers out when I get home and take a look at the Undertaker. I was thinking it was .670, but saw someplace it might be .725? [&:][&:]

The Star Dot is a very hard choke to find. I have one in my safe. I had an 835, but sold it. I kept all of my chokes for it though. I plan on buying a 935 later.
I think they quit making the Star Dot. Or at least under the "star dot" name.
Again, I would suggest the Comp-N-Choke. I've seen more than one 835 with the CnC produce awesome patterns.
