no public land in my area, except wma, i'm in a club with 2500 acres, & i lease 300 acres myself.

Hunt both in Western Ky. Used to hunt exclusively public for 13 seasons, but i gotten onto some private ground the past couple years!

Private only. I have just over 200 acres in North La. with a few turkeys on it. Surrounding clearcutting has decreased the number of turkeys in my area. Lots of WMA's in north La. but lots of hunters too. I won't hunt public in La. anymore. Turkeys are scarce in N.E. La. My land is in north-central La. Not a whole lot of turkeys on public land here anyway.

I hunt on 975 acres of public WMA, 1700 acres of Naval Air Station land and as of last week, exclusive use of 400 acres of private land. Although the land is not mine, I consider myself fortunate.

Just curious... Do you kill more turkeys since you switched to mostly private???

Pretty much the same. Strangely, there are less birds on the private ground i hunt. Really, it ain't very good hunting, but i don't mind the less birds in exchange for far less interuption.
