I'm with the majority.Better off on the ground.Somewhere in that thick mess there must be an openin where the birds travel and strut etc.Maybe an old loggin road or somethin.That's where I would set up.

Jrbsr..I definately agree with the guys here!I hunt some thick country also but one thing I've found out is there are some openings within this thick stuff and trust me the birds know where there at also!Those gobblers usually like those openings to strut there stuff in during the spring!Jim is exactly right,roads,trails,creek banks,and usually on top of the ridges and hills there can be openings in thick country!You just gotta find em!!Also trust me from experience,once a gobbler pegs you from a treestand he will look at that stand everytime he comes into that particular area...Bob.
