Mount Vernon my home town, You picked a good county in fact the4th best (529 killed)out of 88 for spring turkey harvest in 2005. It is flatly rolling country lots of farm land with woodlots, the mast trees are oaks and beech. There is some public land around but it get hit very hard, Private land is hard to get permission on, the pressure there seems togrowing as well, I have more people stop and ask for turkey hunting permission and kick off more tresspassers during turkey season now then deer gun on my farm. If you like italian food you cant make a visit to Mt Vernon without eating at Mazza's and their world famous Mazza salad. hope that helps...
