most deer in the area at 5 are in the 170 to 180 so i think he needs a bullet. i do agree to a point about genetics but i think there is a place for it. i still get a rush any time i getb in my stand or draw back on even a doe. my girlfriend is ganna start to hunt this year so ill let her take him if the shot presents it self.

If your property is producing 180 class bucks it sounds like you are doing great Quality Deer Management. 100 class buck at 3.5 years old is not quality though. If the property is producing 180 class bucks, he needs to be taken out.

Lips before you start spewing about QDM..... I'm what you'd call a hunter, not a killer. I enjoy just being out in the woods... For example, there's this guy who hunts 2 farms over, whom my friends and I nicknamed "trigger" aka. (Steve O) This clowns motto is.. see fur,,,,,, fire and then say I'm doing it in the name of QDM.. He shoots everything including yearlings, which he's been lucky in not shoot'n a button buck.. He's gone so far as to say that he shot an old doe we nicknamed "Ole Swayback" and it turned out to be a yearling doe that he literally must have just shot the spots off of!!!! Those kind of guys,,, I am not!!! So if you are insinuating that's what I should become in order to truely practice QDM,,,, you my friend need to learn what QDM is all about!!!

Killing a deer because you think he's an inferior animal is insulting to the deer and it's not hunting in my opinion. It's half-azz genetic engineering.
And you should let your girlfriend shoot any buck she wants. Whether it's this one, a smaller one or a bigger one.
