Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to fix the flash onmy cam? It's a moultrie but I can't remember the model off the top of my head.. I rele like these cams bu it's the third time we've had a problem wight he flash not workin and honestly I'm just tired of shipping them off to have em fixed

Man thats terrible. I have 4 moultrie cams and havent had a problem yet
thankfully. No idea how to fix it. Good luck hope you figure it out

Deepsouthdeerjunky: Here are a few suggestions: 1)check your camera batteries with a digital meter. If any battery shows 1.0 to 1.2 volt, the camera will not function properly, or not at all. Even new batteries fresh out of the package may have a low or faulty one. 2)make sure your SD card size 2, 4, 8GB etc. is compatible with your camera. Format your card in the computer each time before using it. If a card is used in a digital camera, it has to be formatted. Something in the cards software or file system gets disrupted otherwise. I have been using Moultrie D55 IR and Moultrie M100 with great success. For cards I am using SanDisk, Adapta, Lexar and Verbatim. Kodak will work but not as good. My cards are all formattted and used in various camera makes as follows: SpyPoint IRB, Moultrie D55IR, 2009 model Bushnell Trophy Trail camera, Moultrie M100. My 2009 model Bushnell Trophy Trail camera lets me format the card in that camera. Regardless, all cards are formatted in my computer first.
Some members on various forums suggest using a certain card in a particular camera (marking the card for that camera). Good luck.

Thanks for the input Arrow, I have never tried formatting the cards before. Would that cause the flash to not work?? I Get good day time photos with the camera, the only problem shows up at night... WHen i look at the photos on the SD card it shows that the camera was activated but it only shows a black screen with the time and date at the bottom right hand corner of the screen just like in a regular photo... so im thinking that the camera itself is workng fine, maybe just a problem with the bulb in the flash or something ????

1)Try formatting the sd card. Test the camera around home. This saves lots of travel and disappointment if the camera is not functioning properly. This is a good idea even when first obtaining a new camera. If that card didn't correct the problem, try another brand, one of those listed above making sure it is compatible in MB or GB size. Many of the older model cameras are limited up to 2GB size card. If the card GB is too large, the software in the camera will not recognize it.
2)Check the batteries for proper voltage. Try leaving the batteries out for a short period of time. This may cause your camera to reset if it has an electrical problem.
3)Check Moultrie website, or email Moultrie to see if there is a software upgrade for that camera.
Normally the flash or IR is only required at night or changing from dawn or dusk unless extremely cloudy (a dull day) or if the camera is in a darker wooded area.
