Default Help Can you Age this Buck ?

Here is a Buck that I got on camera last year I posted two pictures the first one is in July 2010 the face on picture is this year just a few day's ago 2011 I think he is 4 1/2 this year but I'm not sure and I don't want to harvest him unless I'm sure he is over 3 1/2 my guess is the 2010 photo he was 3 1/2 please let me know any help will be greatly appriciated.

well its hard to age on the picture from this year but i would he was probably 3 1/2 in the first, deff not any younger then that maybe even 4 1/2 deff mature and looking GREAT already this year

ill say 5 or 6 yrs old..pics lie. bust a cap in his ass and get the dental work done..er call his dentist.

I'd say 3.5-4.5 Hard to say this time of year for sure.

That is a mature deer of at least 4 1/2. Ifyou question whether or not to shoot him then you shouldn't shoot him when a buck comes along and you have no question in your mind your going to take him then that's the buck for you

Definately at least 3.5 from the muscle striations I can see from the hind quarters. Really need better pics to give a better estimate. Hint: Never look at the horns when aging a deer.

Thank you for the help if I get a chance and the good lord blesses me with a oppertunity I'm defiantly going to take him he is a Ghost in Hunting season but I'm hoping this will be the year in 2010 out of the same tree I took a 150" 9 pointer with 23" spread I live in Virginia so that a huge deer for this area and it looks like this guy is going to be a bit bigger then the one I previously got. Thanks again I really appriciate the info
