Default What to do with old camera?

Several years ago my father and I went in on a 0.3 megapixal Wildview when it was the cheap new camera. At the time it was the only Wildview camera on the market. It wasn't the worst camera in the world. Slow trig speed, low res photos, but not the worst thing in the world. Last season we had it out and the thing just stopped working completely so we just didn't bother dealing with it because we got a new camera. Now I just have this thing sitting collecting dust. Is there anything to do with an old out of date camera?

You could gut it and make a bird house

You could use it as a step to reach stuff in the middle of the tool box

You can use as it like a rock for correcting bad puppy behavior

Nawww, I got it!!!

Use it as a decoy to catch trail cam thieves!!!!

Donate it to a contest somewhere for a prize.

I'd be mad if I "won" a broken camera!

Very creative ideas so far, but seriously is it something that should just end up in the trash, or is there anyway of using the parts? Is it something that sending it back to the manufacturer would fix, or is it even worth doing since it is so old? I would hate to throw out something that could actually be of some use. I just wondered if someone has been in this situation before.

ive got 2 old ones that arent realy reliable anymore. i do use them in high pressure/ tresspasser areas. if it comes up missing im not at much of a loss. ive thought of getting an IR to hang up high looking down at an angle to get a pic of the person stealing the other cam without them being aware. if you dont have these problems then i dont know what you could use them for. might call the manufaturer and see what they can do for you. good luck.

Can you gut it and use the case to make a home brew camera?

Maybe a new camera is all you need. The other working parts may be ok or only a few need replacing and you could have yourself an additional camera.

I looked into that before, and it would cost more than a brand new trail cam. Maybe you get what you pay for, but definately cost more.
