Sent my cameras back today
I just got back from sending both my cameras back to the manufacturer's. My stealth I550 is being replaced and my Non-Typical Deer Cam DC-100 is being upgraded to a Cuddeback Capture Flash. I wonder which one i will get back first?
Also, i have another camera that stopped working, a Moultrie. I bought it from Cabelas in 2006 so i emailed them to see what they could do. They emailed me back (after only 15 minutes) and said that since its a Moultrie brand that i have to do everything through Moultrie, they included a copy of my receipt though (even though they only had my email address and name...kudos to them, i didnt even ask for it). I sent Moultrie an email yesterday to see what they could do for me. Hopefully they treat me well like Cuddeback and Stealth has. |

I have the 4.1 Cabelas edition Moultrie. It worked great for3 years(except saucer eyes in the pictures). It took over 4,000 pictures (would have been a crap ton more if a had it over bait or minerals longer). Recently it just stopped working properly. It will turn off, not take pics, wont accept SD cards, the screen goes blank....all kinds of issues. Im hoping they offer me some sort of discount on a upgrade like Cuddeback does. I dont believe they can fix or repair the camera since its so old, so i would really like to get an M-40.

I have 2 of those flash captures and have had great luck with them so far, they take great pics day or night.

I have found that some of these companies don't do well with email, but will talk to customers on the phone. Give it a try. I have a Capture and love it. Good luck!!! |

Yea, me too. I hear nothign but bad news when it comes to Moultrie customer service.
My buddy bought a 5.1 Cabelas edition camera 2 years ago and the flash stopped working. When he called in to fix it they told him that they cant because its been over 1 year. Then when he saidhe would pay for it they told him since they no longer produce the camera that they cant. They didnt offer him any assistance after that. So basically he has a dud camera that he cant do anything with. Make me feel great about resolving my problem. |

They have good customer service when it comes to cameras they make though. Kinda sucks about the older ones, but most electronics dont last forever[&:]

I've had good luck with them. I had the same camera last year and had issues. the offered me to upgrade it to the M series for a few bucks and I've been happy ever since. I didn't try emailing but I called them directly. Got a really nice lady on the phone and she took care of it. Hope it goes well. Denny |

I received an email from Cudde today saying that they shipped a new camera back for me :D
Nothing from Moultrie yet, i haven't called, probably will tomorrow. |

It's been a while but I think it was Mitzy or something like that. Nice southern accent to her voice. She was very helpful and fixed me up.
Now for the bad part. I went and pulled my camera from being out all winter. Noticed my display is starting to go. So now I have to make a call and see if this one is still under warranty. It's taken thousands of pictures thru some nasty weather and performed well. |

Don't hold your breath with Moultrie. Very poor customer service. I'm have a huge go round with them over there security box which is worthless because even locked up and on the tree all you have to do is lift up the front of the box and it will open right up and anybody can take the camera. I lost my Moultrie I40 this way. Had no idea how it happened until I saw this video. Check out video "Don't Buy Moultrie Security Box" posted by edgecrusher. Moultrie will not take any reasonability for there faulty security box as of today. But I'm not going to let them get away with this.

have you called? I just called the 800 #, on hold for maybe 3 minutes and they looked up my camera, saw it was one they upgraded/replaced last year and gave me my Customer ID # and said send it back and we will take care of it. It should be in the mail in a day or two. Denny |

Oh i called all right.I told the guy the situation, and he told me their was nothing he could do. I kept telling him how other companies stand by theircameras and whenever i asked him what i should do he kept re-telling me the policy like a damn robot. I told him if i should just throw it away and he said the same nothing. Im basically out $160. Terrible customer service compared to Stealth and Cuddeback.

The more i hear about Moultrie and their customer service the more i dont want 1 of their cams. Of course Cuddeback use to be that way to from what i've heard, but i've never had to deal with them.

Don't get me wrong, i wasn't trying to knock Cuddeback, afterall i do have 4 of their cams, i just think after they released their NoFlash a few yrs ago they got a bad rap. I've never had any trouble with any of mine. (yet) Sooner or later, with the conditions that trailcams are put thru there all gonna have issues.

So I sent the camera back last week (4-7-09). They received it on Friday (4-10-09) according to the USPS delivery confirmation. Got home from work yesterday (4-14-09) and brand new camera at my door. Can't complain there.
Too bad they gave you such a bad time. That is a poor representation of the company. |

As for the Stealth cam, i got the camera back awhile ago as you can recall, but the new one wont turn on now. Which means it must be the battery pack. The only thing is i checked the battery pack a few weeks ago and it worked fine . Now im going to have to tear the battery pack apart becaus ei cant afford to send it back to the company and waste 2 more monthes without a camera. Its amazing to me how so much can go wrong with trail cameras [:@] |

so far i am happy with my Moultrie's. my 4.1 is 3+ years and still kicking. the only problem with it is after tropical storm Fay come through, my digital display is missing pixels. the cam still works great, just hard to read the battery life and amount of pic's that are on it. my I40 is on it's 2nd year and working flawless. last month i got 700 pic's on it and still had over 70% battery life.

Bad news on my Stealth cam. I just went and checked over everything, and the external battery pack is in fine working condition, which means, this is my THIRD Stealth cam to notrecognize the external battery pack. My original I450 didnt, the replacement I550 they gave me did for a few months then quit, and my new I550 that they just sent me does not. I dont know what more to do, ive spent almost $40 shipping these cameras to Texas and ive only had them in the woods 2 outta the last 7 months [:@][:@][:@]

So yesterday i called Stealth again, this time they offered to replace my I550 with the newer (and cheaper [:@]) I590. Im going to give this camera a whirl to see how it does. Im just looking for a good mineral lick/scrape camera to take high quality photos, and chasingame.com said this camera has better then average picture quality. Wish me luck [:@]

Even more bad news guys. Since we were told that they would ship us a brand new camera last Monday, and it had been a week, we called them again yesterday. They told us that they had no record of them talking to us, so we asked for another person. The next person we talked to called us back 3 times over the course of an hour and eventually told us that our camera was shipped last Monday but had been lost. They said they would "try" to find it for us. Also, the new camera doesn't come with any type of warranty so if it dies, were out of a camera.

Totally unacceptable! Regardless on how many times a cam fails if its under warranty you should get a new 1 with a warranty. Was there a tracking #? I would'nt settle for their BS! Report them to the BBB. Mark my words guys, i will never have a stealth cam in my fleet.
