I've got some good pics with mine. Very clear. In "couple Nebraska Bucks" in trail cam section the 3rd pic is from the d40. The only thing I'm not to sure I like is it goes into a sleep mode. But for all I know it catches everything that goes by.

On the ranch we hunt there are about 5 of them out, I have two of them and I have never had any problems with mine but two of the other ones have had to be sent back and replaced (wouldn't flash at night). I think they are either hit or miss with that b/cI know one of those were purchased at the same time and place I bought mine (webought them together)but if you get a good one you will be happy with it, like I said I can't complain about either one of mine they have bothbeen awesome!!!! I would also recommend that if you could afford $200 go for a I-40, that camera has really impressed me......

I dont like my sleeping mode that much because it takes to long to wake up. It never gets deer that are just jogging by slowly. ( really slow ). It usually has to be in a spot where the deer are bedding down or munching on something. I would say if you want it going into a path way where deer run I would put it facing into the path so it gets the deer running straight to it. (it has some time to wake up.)
