Sorry guys I don't know who's legite and who's not. All I want to know is if I do purchase one of these cameras whether a scout guard or different name I want to know if the camera is going to perform in sub zero weather here in Wisconsin. I like to see who is still standing after the hunting seasons are over.

Have you bought from this seller before? If there's something with the camera within one year warranty period, I guess the businesswill still be there to help you sort it out?
I have bought a camera SG 550 from this business. and Have returned for a replacement no problems at all.

WI,
I don't have first hand experience yet with below zero temps. The manufacturer rates them to -30F and so far all there claims have been met or exceeded. I believe the cam will perform flawlessly in subzero temps. Battery life will be negatively impacted, but thats just batteries, not a fault of the camera. I've seen batteries in other cams cut in half usually and as much as 75%. Thats another reason to buy a ScoutGuard or Covert. The battery life is beyond great so when it gets frigid you'll still get decent battery life.

skin dog1,
If the battery life is as good or better than last years I40 then I might have to give the 550 a try as long as I get the one that they have installed more LED's. I was not impressed with some of the night pictures I seen from the old version. The I40 has alot of LED's and has know problem illuminating a large area.

my 2008 i-40 is working fine.

if you dont angle the laser light right way, it will not light up great.

i put mine up high and angle it down.

right now it shows up about 40 ft at night and real good at about 20/25 ft away.

its working real good for me, i have 600 pics and battery is showing 78%but those duracells are 4 years old too.

the only complain i have is silver ir window, the camera stealers pick that up quick.

i heard you can use the THIN tint your window stuff at auto stores and put it over it,dont get real dark thick ones, they make a real thin one.

i also heard some are using camera film to cover it also.

Does anyone know if there is a new scoutguard coming out this month with more LED's? I thought I read about this last month. They are hoping to cut down on the tunnel vision situation on the nitetime pics.
My (07) I40 quit working a couple days ago. It wouldn't switch from setup mode to auto mode. I got it replaced by this years model and already I can see the difference in the trigger speed, it sucks. Two pics of half the deer and I would sure like my (07)model back. I am thinking about getting a refund so I can buy a different brand. Why in the world moutrie would want to go backwards is beyond me.[:@]

I'm still using my old 35mm $49.95 stealth cam but convinced the wife that with the price of film and developing, plus only 5-6 decent pics per roll we are wasting money. My 550just came in the mail yesterday. Only took 3 days to get here.I have some deer that travel through our yard every night even though we are right in town. I'm going to set out a few corn cobs near my deck and see what I get tonight.
Should I leave it on the default settings, or go to low sensitivity right away? Other thoughts on set up.

I would change the default settings as in pics it is at 3MP. If you are using pics, I would change it to 5MP. If the weather is cold, use normal to low sensitivity. I prefer 3 pic burst.
