Pros an cons of my Reconyx RC-55 camera

Pros

Very fast trigger time about .20 wakeup to pic.
Pictures are good
Can take as many as 2 pics a second up to 10 pics
Can be set to takea pic at certain times 2 times a day
Color daytime pics B&W night time pics.
Case is very well made, weather proof.
Easy to program
Has time, temp,moon phase an canindividually program location namesonpics.
Comes with Buckview software (nice)
Batteries last about 2.5 months fall an summer
Trigger distance is out to 100 ft.
If the camera is on an you forget to activate it it will activate itself in two minutes.
Night time pics are good illumination range about 40 ft.

Cons

Batteries do not last as long in cold weather, under 20 degrees last maybe5 weeks.
Screen is not viewable from outside for quickcheck of pics count.
When switching daytime tolow light pics makes a noticeable click sound.
Screen is not lighted for programming in low light.
Uses the old style SD card.
No video
Can not set camera for dayor night time only pics.


Summary of camera.

The camera is very fast an takesgood pics. The buckview software is nice. Youwill not miss a pic of anything that walks in front of the camera. The cameras pros out weigh the cons. The trigger time is plenty quick for any location.

THE NEW 60 MODEL FROM THEM LOOKS TO BE ONE OF THE TOP CAMS OUT THIS YEAR...BUT IT'S HARD TO JUSTIFY $600 CAMERAS THAT SIT IN THE WOODS.

The new 60 is going to run $600. I look forward to trying one for myself this season. There is no doubt its going to be an outstanding cam!
