moultie cams rechargable batteries
I'm thinking about purchasing the rechargable6 voltbattery for my moultrie camera. The model is MFH-DGW 2.1. Are they any good, do they last? Also what about the the solar panel for recharging the batteries? Both seem to work, but I want to hear from someone who has used them.

RE: moultie cams rechargable batteries
I have a Moultrie 6 volt rechargeable battery in my Moultrie feeder, charged it up the beginning of August and it reads 98% charged as of today, temps have been as low a 28 degrees.
Granted a camera is going to use more energy than a feeder, but should not be that much more.
Let us know.

i never hooked up my solar panel because the battery alone has lasted me over 3 months. my cams are set on actual trails, not feeders, therefore i am not getting 50 pic's a week either.

RE: moultie cams rechargable batteries
I have the re-charable battery, the solar panel, and the wall charger. i use the wall charger to get a completely full charge on the battery and then use the solar panel to help prevent the battery from draining as quickly. The solar panel will not (at least in my experiences) keep the battery completely charged, however, it will prolong the battery life. I have my camera in some "thicker" trees and I have the solar panel pointed upward to recieve as much of the sun as it possibly can, but the solar panel doesn't see a whole lot of sun. With this setup, I still get pretty decent battery life. I went out and bought another rechargable battery so I would have two of them. I keep one charged at home and if it has been 4 or 5 weeks since I have been to my trail-cam, I then take the "fresh" battery with me and swap them out. The solar panel does help though with my Moultrie cam...
