Hi,
I just purchased a moultrie gamespy from wally world... I am hot on the trail of a nice black bear. He finally ate my helpings for him but my battery was dead.... I put another battery in and the same thing! These batteries are brand new! Anyone have any ideas why my camera kills the battery so quickly? It only takes1 night and caput!

are you using the moultrie rechargable batteries and the moultrie charger? I use both (about $10 each) and i usually get 2-3 weeks out of mine on a charge. but lately this cold weather has got em runnin out pretty quick. I once forgot my rechargable batteries and got some junk cheapo 6V batteries and it only lasted a day or 2, i'd say go with the rechargables, a much better deal in the long run. just make sure though that you're spraying your camera and the tree down with scent killer when you put it up, and maybe even use rubber gloves. My buddy and i have both had cameras swatted at by bears and one of my older 35 mm cams has a puncture in the sensor from a bear. so make sure you're using a bear box or scent killer if you know there are bears in the area. Also, i'd recommend installing the camera and turning it on then placing the bait, in that order, so as to not get any scent from the bait on your camera.hope this helps

I have a Gamespy 200 and I had to send it back to Moultrie not too long ago because something was wrong with the infrared sensor thing. I sent it back to 'em and they sent me a brand new one free.

You should run the diagnostic test on it, it could be something other than a bad battery thats making the battery die quickly. When the infrared sensor was going bad on mine it was making the battery die really fast. Run the diagnostic test though and call the Moultrie folks.

What model do you have? Is it a "100" with the 1.5 version when you turn it on? I had several of those last year that were bad from Wally World. They don't send back returns they just resell them. Otherwise, get the solar pannel and the rechargeable battery
