Default My flintlock barrel

If you remember I sent an order in to Robert Hoyt for a .54 flintlock barrel 1:66 for my T/C Hawken. He told me he was backed up pretty good and I told him there was no hurry. I called him up this morning because I made a slight error in the order. I requested a 1/4" - 24 threaded hole for the touch hole liner in lieu of the std. 1/4" - 28.
He told me that it is no problem and he would have caught it anyway. But then he went on to tell me that he would likely have it done later this week!!!
I guess I will have it shipped to my friend's house when done.

Yeah it is. But now I'm going to be chomping at the bit because I won't be able to shoot it until May because my stock is up in PA and I'm in FL.

Not totally sure how much its going to cost just a ball park figure.
But yeah it is from scratch. He cuts the blank to the length you want, installs the breech and rifles the barrel to a twist you want.

bronko,

I must have misunderstood, I thought he was re-boring a barrel for you. Is he using your original T/C breech plug and fitting it to the new barrel blank? Is he cutting dovetails and/or drilling, tapping, etc. for front and rear sights?

Barry this is a new barrel. For the breech he is installing a breech plug with a welded hook that will fit the T/C tang. He will also install an under rib with ram rod barrels, cut a dovetail for the front and drill, tap and install the rear sight.
The barrel blank will be bored out to .54 cal and rifled with a 1:66 twist.
