Thanks Chad,

Some recomendations of good boyers for custom long bows in that price range would be greatly appreciated. Also, I might as well remove all doubt as to my ignorance and ask what IMO means. Thanks again.

Art, is the Viper Deluxe now made by Internature by Aim? I looked on the samick Website and did not see it there. Here is a picture:

Osage, where do you live? I've found that many local bowyers who build bows for fun, will often times build you a custom bow for about the price range you're looking for. They might not offer the wood selections of some online vendors, but a bow built to your draw length and preference is always nice.

Bob, the Viper and Viper Delux have always been made by Samick/Internature and imported by AIM. That pic you posted is the exact same picture as the one here on AIM's website for the Viper Delux. (Click "Products" then "Bows" and select Viper Delux from the "Select Bow" dropdown menu.) Terrible pic. It's too dark to see anything other than the bow's lines. The Delux isn't a show stopper but it's nicer looking than the standard Viper.

Thanks for clarifying Art. My wife wants to shoot longbow now, it might be one to look into without too much $$$$.

Sir John - Sorry it took so long to get back to you. My computer went belly up and it took a while to get back on line. I currently live in Northern Virginia in the Shenandoah valley. Little town called Woodstock. Will be moving back to Bend Oregon in about a year.
