Default traditional 3-D shoots

I organize three 3-d shoots per year as part of a local league. This of course accomodates all class of shooters in this particular league. Where is the best place to keep a lookout for some of the larger shoots, particularly trad. shoots? I live in the northeast (MA), and would like to plan on attending one or two in the upcoming season. I would appreciate any and all info.

Thanks

Jim

Traditional Bowhunter magazine always has notices for the trad shoots coming up.

3 Rivers used to list a lot of shoots in the catalog, but I don't see any in the latest one? Trad archery boards like this usually give a heads-up about upcoming shoots. I don't know about the ones in your part of the country, but I'll try to announce the ones I know of and/or plan to attend. The first one I can think of is Kalamazoo indoor expo. in MI, I think in Feb? Then it's the Kentucky Klassic in Nancy, KY in April (also not a tourny, but has 2 good courses to shoot), the TN classic at the Twin Oaks club near Clarkesville, TN in May, Cloverdale near Greencastle, IN in June, and the AL State Championship in McCalla, AL at Tannehill State Park in August. There are several more I can't think of off hand.......the TX State Longbow Championship near Mary's Creek (just outside Ft. Worth) Memorial Day weekend is one, The Real Thing in LA somewhere between May and June (I think), the Great Lakes Longbow Invitational in MI (don't remember when it is), Denton Hill in PA--in July, I think, the GA State Championship near Meansville, GA.............there are lots if you are willing to travel.

thanks for the heads up on upcoming shoots. It would be nice to make some of the trad. shoots, however it is likely I will have to travel. Thats why i was asking so far in advance it is something i'll have to plan for.

Thanks

Jim

There is a shoot in New York, I think over near Buffalo, its called the Hawkeye Bowmen or something like that. Maybe someone that knows more about it than I do will jump in here.

John49,
Hi - I am from Oneida, NY about 187 miles east of Buffalo. I'd be interested in what is available.

Has anyone been to Denton, PA recently? Are they still doing the traditional shoots, buying, selling, and trading there as they used to?

???

Scoobiedoo, I spend some time hunting in springfield, NY each year isn't Oneida fairly close -by? I can't remember exactlywhich town it was in, but I found a traditional shop west of Richfield Springs on rt. 20. I remember they held 3-D shoots and seemed to be involved with a league. I'm sorry I can't remember all the specifics but they may have info on nearby shoots.

Jim,
Springfield is 58 miles east of me. I don't know much about that area since I am originally from Albany, NY.

Thanks for the info - I'll look into it. Was this a traditional 3D shoot?

Any idea HOW far on Rt 20 this archery shop was? I'm looking on www.411.com TRYING to find them via an 'archery' search by both towns. Could it be: Cassety Hollow Rod & Gun Club - Oriskany Falls, NY
Rt 20 to 12B, turn North to Oriskany Falls, turn right on Sanger Hill Road, turn right on Alabam Road, go to the end?
