Default equipment ?

I just started shooting my dads old Bear recurve. It is 45 lb, I think, is that good enuf for deer. Does a good quality string matter, if so what is a good name. What is a good arrow
for me to shot. Any good books i should read to get started.
Thanks for any help

Default RE: equipment ?

45 lbs is enough, assuming the bow actually pulls that weight at your draw length.

Arrows, hell, wood, aluminum, carbon, you pick. Spine is what is most important.

Don't concern yourself on the brand of the string. Just get a dacron string of the correct length.
