He is hard to see in his suroundings. I wonder if anyone has had experience hunting wabbits with a Bassit Hound (Wasset Wound?). My usual poor attemp at humor. I read they where used in England and my daughter wants a pet dog that being one of her many choices.

ChessBum, Wasset Wounds make great rabbit dogs...as long as you're not in a hurray. I'm a nut for rabbit hunting...and one of my buddies has a basset. He's the funniest damn thing I ever saw. He'll strike a trail, run a few feet, stop, look around, and howl so loud his front feet come off the ground. He's slow, but he gets the job done.

By the way, I managed to kill a cottontail with my recurve this morning. It's my last day to hunt...so it was a nice way to end the season.

Chess, just got back from a morning of chasing the "small whitetails". Six of us were spread out through the briers. Two beagels were just running their hearts out. We were all shooting and shooting and the dogs were baying and running. Score: wabbit 100, hunter 0. Pesky little demons! Got so the dogs would run by, stop and give us a dirty look, and then run on. Rabbits from hell I tell ya!!!!!

If it don't rain in the morning we will be out after them again.
Had a embarasing situation while I was shooting golf balls in my backyard with judo tipped arrows.
I tried out a rubber blunt arrow and shot at the golf ball only it did not stick into the grass like the judos do, it took a bounce and proceded to fly across the street toward my neighbors house landing in their front lawn.
Well, I went over to retreive it and I was crossing the road just when they pulled into their driveway.
I guess I should be glad they did not drive by when I was shooting the blunt at the golf ball.
Wonder if the media would call that a drive by shooting?

If you'd have hit the guy in the head and knocked him out...you could have run over, hid your arrow, and said..."Did you see the size of that crow????" LOL
