I hear alot of good things about Chek-mate bows. They,re in your price range and are a custom made bow. Check them out at recurves.com.

I've owned a lot of bows over the years. My present inventory is 3/4 CheckMates. Can't find much fault in their quality or price! And if you're interested in a Robertson Stykbow 59# @ 28" - 62" length I'd be willing to make my inventory 100% CheckMate

you couldnt go wrong with a check-mate as they are sweet shooters, but for a little extra money id go with selway archery, its a long bow and man does that puppy shoot, to me it out shoots the black widow long bow heres the link, i also met gordy (selway archery bowyer) and hes a real down to earth fellow. heres his site. Order yourself a lil magnum that bow really lives up to its name. heres his site to check it out
