My wife and I do a lot of 'delayed shot' or 'premature draw' training, both muscular training in the gym as well as holding shots for a LONG time at the range.

That might help you buy a few seconds under draw. I'm the type that will wait for the wind to be just right before I release one even on targets, so I end up holding draw whether it's hunting, matches, or just backyard practice.
Yeah, I can definitely see the advantages to be able to hold draw for a period of time and still remain on target.

Really, I'm still within 4" from the point of aim, so in most cases I'll be in the kill zone... but I've never hunted traditional. I'm used to the target walking in, drawing and holding there while I wait for the "perfect" shot (as perfect as it can get, anyway).

With traditional, I feel like I need to have my shot picked out before I draw, and the release will come less than 1 second later. Of course, if the animal were to catch me drawing, I'd have to be very careful to not let an arrow fly.

It's going to be an interesting season...
