Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all the great ideas & suggestions, I only wish I'd asked these questions before I started. I plan on trying again when this'ns done & I have a much better understanding of what works best now thanks to y'all! Wish me luck! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

What does e-bay charge you for your add or do they get a cut of the sale?
Thanks,
Rick

Who,

eBay charges a listing fee and then they get a certain percentage of the final bid value. The listing fee is based on the starting price and the percentages come from the final bid price. The percentage actually goes down as the value goes up. Check them out for the percentages.

Nice looking auction.

I've bought a couple bows and some arrows/broadheads off Ebay and have never had a problem. As a matter of fact, I bought the recurve I currently hunt with off Ebay for $65. Not too shabby.

I didn't feel like reading through all the posts, so I hope I'm not repeating what someone has already said. Go to e-Bay's website and read the info pages they have about buying and selling on auctions. A lot of those questions you asked will be answered there. One thing that should be mentioned is that, as the seller, you have the right to refuse to sell to the high bidder for reasons such as bad feedback. I've seen some sellers state that they won't sell to people who have under 50 feedback points. Once the auction ends and someone has met or exceeded the reserve/starting price, you're obligated to sell. (There are a few ways you can get out of it; like the feedback thing I said earlier.) The bidders aren't supposed to retract bids unless they've a good reason for it. Good reasons include typing in a wrong bid amount; but would exclude, &quot;I changed my mind.&quot; You can give a bidder a negative feedback if he/she retracts a bid without good reason. I don't mean to ramble, but I'd a difficult dealing before. I bid on a helmet and was later outbid. I didn't place a higher bid, but went to another auction and placed a bid. The person who outbid me in the first auction retracted their bid, which left me as the high bidder again. It put me on the spot 'cause I was still the high bidder on the other auction. I retracted my bid for the first auction and told the seller why. The auction still sold anyways, so I don't think the seller was cranky about it. Anyways...I'll stop rambling. It's been a while since I've read the rules, so they may have changed some of them. Definitley read the rules posted on the site and you should be alright. God bless.

I have never had a problem with purchases on ebay but I have paid to much once because I wasn't thinking about shipping and Mich tax.

You are safe if you are the seller, but not if you are the buyer. Like someone else mentioned, if the seller never sends the merchandise Ebay will not help you. They will make noise and talk in circles, but do nothing to help you recover.
