Default Got a chance to hunt yesterday morning.

Went out and set up and had this buck come in at about 8:45, which was good, because I had a long laundry list of things to do at home, and had to pretty much arm wrestle the wife to get free. He was a nice bodied 8 point.

Nice, at least you didn't have Rowel in that rifle stand, or else you would have heard. BOOM!

Oh, Kent I forgot to ask. Did you discard the carcass on the side of the road again?

Easy Bob. Still bad memories there.

Dad gone Kent. Do you ever get a bad shot? Don't answer that, I don't want to rub off any bad mojo. I am just sayin, every deer you post is right thru the boiler room. Beautiful shots. Beautiful deer.

You better not get rid of that ipe bow. seems to be treating you right this year.

Thanks, but I wont go and say it is due to my accuracy. I have been offered some easy shots this year. This guy was about 12 yards when i shot. My other buck was about the same. I did get a crap shot this year on a hog. He was about 22 yards and I hit im about 5 inches higher than I was aiming. It went in through the bottom of his shield. Needless to say, I only got about 8 inches of penetration. He ran for about a mile before he piled up. He was down on the river and in some thickets, so he stayed where he laid. I was not going to crawl on my hands and knees, in the dark, through a rattlesnake infested hog tunnel. The coyotes ate well that week.

Been some meat taken on your place this year huh Kent? Here's what it looked like one morning...excuse the old guy looking like he's about to pass out on back of truck! There's 3 on the ground and was another yet to be loaded. That was a good morning filling the freezer!

Excellent--I'm jealous!

This has been the slowest season for hunting that I can remember, for me anyway. Been sick, been obligated, been busy, had equipment get ruined.....and honestly haven't been bitten by the bug like I usually am. Think it's mostly aggravation (stuff getting ruined, trail cam pics showing movement only at night in my spot). Hope to get a hog hunt arranged for early next year.
