Ok, can't let kent and Russ have all the fun. I had a piece of osage left over from my first bow. I figured its time to get the boy in the mix.
Its going to be 35" Tip to tip, and I plan on 12lbs at 12". I am also going to recurve the tips quite a bit. I also need do some straightening. She's very crooked. I am not sure how long to make the handle. I am thinking 2". And make the fades 1.25" long. Can anyone measure thier 5-7 year olds palm?
Here's the boy now. Mama will be mad she made it on the internet. I worked for 3 hours getting her down to one ring. He doesn't know it yet, but that lumber in his hand will make him the coolest kid on the block.

Like I said, crooked as a chicago senator running for president.

Here she is all bandsaw'd out and I done some scrapin. I plan on doing some smoothing tomorrow.

Good deal--my son started out with a bow very similar to that--I think it's 48", osage, with a propellar twist in it. Actually shot pretty dang good--he shot in his first tournament with it a couple of weeks before his 3rd birthday--shot it for quite a while after that. Lots of kids have shot it since, but I can't bring myself to give it away--too much sentimental value. Still have his first tiny quiver and arrows too...he's 13 now, a little over 6' tall and 250#, and has gone through a few bows since then....

Good deal, I wouldn't give it away either
I think you should leave the twists in it sorta adds character anyway what kid wants a straight bow
I wouldn't say I am having fun at the moment
Richy rich Kanga tools???????????
You know how long and how many arguements I had to get those tools[8D]
