RE: RESPECT.

What can I say that wasn't already said? I guess being windy I can say a lot but will only add this: As long as people in the bush respect the rights of each other who cares what they shoot. We will always have people arguing compound vs recurves, inlines vs flint locks etc. If we don't stop fragmenting the groups and stick together the ANTI's will win that much easier.

Live for the chase reguardless the choice of the tool!!

RE: RESPECT.

Bill raised an interesting point for me. I only shot compounds for about 8 months before I switched to traditional. But I could never shoot the compound as much as the trad bow before I would tire. The compound was 58lbs. and the trad bow I started with was 45lbs, but quickly moved to a 50lb longbow. Can anyone explain why I can take 200shots/day with the longbow, but was exhausted after shooting about 100 shots with the compound? I've heard other trad shooters say the same thing. Does it have something to do with the difference in force draw curve? I would have thought the letoff of a compound would allow for more extended shooting.

Yeah, I think Carl has something there. Plus your attitude is different with a stick than a compound. You just mighta been having more fun shooting. When I'm not having fun, I get a lot more tired a lot faster than when I am.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Dang Carl, you've had the dreaded TP too? Sux don't it? Are you over it now? Still using the clicker? I had an ugly bout w/it too, but think I've got it under control now...at least at the present time it seems so. I'm not so sure a guy ever gets completely CURED of that crap, what do you think?

Buck Magnet,
As a fellow Pennsylvanian and a trad convert 2 years ago, let me assure you that people aren't born good shooters. BUT you can become good and good enough to hunt and take game. AND it is a heck of a lot more fun to associate with trad people because they are into having fun and not conquering technology. I do not say that as a snub by any means. It is something that I have learned in the last few years.

The trad conversion process starts by hanging around trad people. You are officially warned!!!

I appreciate your post missed again. I'm really getting the itch to move to Traditional. The challenge of it is overwhelming.

Carl & Mike, I think you've solved the riddle for me. I know I held a long time at anchor with the compound and hardly at all with the longbow (one of my problems - short drawing) and I definitely enjoy the stickbow a lot more. I have difficulty putting it down, even when my groups start spreading and I know I should before (more) bad habits creep in.

BM, thank you. I feel respect is some thing that needs to be earned. There are bad apple in all facets of out sport. We need to mindful and try to weed them out. May your arrows always fly true no matter out of what bow they are casted and my your heart always be pure.
