Figure I'll regret posting this, but oh well......
Went to a great tournament today--Lost Tribe in Collierville, TN hosts it. Since I plan to shoot in the "Iron Man" competition at the TN Classic next month (compete with longbow, selfbow, and recurve), I decided I better shoot my recurve a little--I don't remember the last time I competed with a recurve, but I know it's been years. I don't think I have ever competed with this particular recurve (my bowfishing bow), and I've only tinkered around with it around the house a little, mostly to find the right arrows for it. Anyway.....
I shot my first round with it, and shot almost 90%! Dad-gum......then I started thinking--it's going to really stink if I can't at least match that with my longbow.
Well, guess what.....my longbow score was about 10 points lower......maybe more.......grrrrrrrr.......
Selfbow was plumb embarrassing. I was worn slap out after the first two rounds--rushing through to get all three rounds shot on time (and it's not a short course), and should have just let it go, but nooooooooooooo........I had to go make a fool of myself. [:@]
At least I'll have a couple of days to get in two rounds at the TN Classic, rather than a few hours. At least I know I can shoot the recurve ok......I still prefer my longbow though. Not too concerned about the selfbow--I hit the course with it "cold", and it shoots quite a bit different than my other bows. Should have warmed up with it a bit first. Good thing is it about shoots itself, at least when I'm not too tired to get the blasted string to anchor!

3 rounds is a lot to squeeze into a few hours. You may be big, but you ain't superman.
As you said, at least you'll have a few days to do it atTwin Oaks. Not being in a rush can make all the difference in the world. I've thought about doing the iron man while up there.Hmmmm, we'll see.

Had an absolute ball doing it! My last round (with the selfbow) was shot with a few friends that were all well into adulthood when I was born--they've been around the block a time or three. Good thing for me is they have all seen me shoot before and know I'm not normally that incompetent on the course!
Hope you can shoot the Iron Man Chris! Somebody needs to give Julia a little competition this year........
