What's Up with these Long Bow shooters?
#1
We went to an outdoor 3-D shoot this weekend and got behind some Long Bow shooters. Now I am impressed at anyone that can shoot these Traditional Bows as good the rest of us can a compound, but this guy we were behind took an extra two shots on every target. If it wasn't so busy I would have said something to this older guy, but it was slow going and we weren't moving that fast anyway. I guess it just pisses me off that some don't think the rules are for them. I have seen this before with traditional bow shooters at different shoots. What gives?

I've never seen it before and I've been to allot of 3-D shoots. Don't put all Traditional shooters in the same bag.

I know a guy who is the same way. Has to shoot at least two arrows at every target. But, it's only him and has nothing to do with the equipment anyone carries. Some people are just either inconsiderate or too wrapped up into themselves.

Sorry to put the blame on the traditional shooters, That's just the ones I have seen do this.Like I said I have a lot of respect for the recurve/long bow shooters, they put a lot of time in to shoot as well as they do. I should have just stated any one who holds people up by not following the rules should stay home and shoot in your back yard.

I hate when the compound shooters take so much time holding and aiming. Am I suppose to be impressed.

I shoot them all, long, paddle, recurve, compound, etc. But Ill tell you what, the women love longbows. Especially the ones with a sexy R/D form.

I've never experienced a hold-up (that I can remember anyway) because someone was shooting extra arrows. I have to say I quit going to "mixed" shoots for several years because I got frustrated with the compound shooters--when it got to the point where guys were toting chairs with built-in quivers, that did it for me. Stand at the stake, glass the target for a few minutes, make sight adjustments, glass again, adjust again, shoot, glass again (like he can change it now?), then the next guy goes through the same process. It drove me nuts, and on top of this a lot of them acted like total silence was a requirement on the course. They acted like it was a chore, none of them seemed to be having any fun.......I always asked myself, "what's the point?".
The biggest delays I see at all traditional shoots is when beginners are hunting arrows, or when someone has a group of kids on the course--and I can live with either of those. I do shoot one mixed shoot now, because it's the only one that's anywhere close to where I live.
Anyhow, I'd ask the guy shooting extra arrows if he'd mind waiting until I shot through because he was holding everyone up. If he didn't comply, I'd bring it to the attention of the club management.
