What kind of hat/cap?

Sure I cnt my bow. Sure it does (get in the way).
I have a Stetson that I wear flyfishing....that's beaverskin. I may try that. Not exactly crushable......but it would bend out of the way.....and I know it's pretty well waterproof.

Yep, I see all the folks wearing the Asbell hats at all the trad events. They even have stands out selling em. I think you have to be over 50 to wear one.
I know I would feel like I am 50 if I wore one.

The problem I find with wearing a baseball cap backwards or not at all is that I wear one to keep the sun out of my eyes or the rain out of my face (off my glasses) A wool felt full brim hat wont effect your shooting and keeps you warm. The sun out of your eyes and the rain off your face and neck too.
I like the Trad look too

I suggest not wearing it then?[8D] Or turning it backwards.

The reason I asked....and thought it was a no-brainer.....is a regular baseball style cap gets in the way of my string at full draw.
Hence the question.

Of course I've never worried about how I look. LOL

well, my friend I beg to differ. I think all these folks at trad shoots are worried about the way they look and hence reason they wear the fred bear or asbell hats.

Jeff, alot of times I wear this ball cap. I had them made up for the guys at the cabin with the camp name on the front and the guys name on the back. I like it cause it has some orange in it. I don't think that it is legal for when we need to have 100 inches of orange when the muzzleloader season overlaps, but I like to have it on there. As far as the string interference, I will cock it slightly or tip it up a bit if my sting is in the way. I changed my anchor point last year(not for the cap clearance) and then I had no prob. I have also worn a underarmor stretch fit that i can slide backwards when I get to the stand.

When it gets cold enough, I absolutely love a Filson "skull cap" as shown in my avatar. It is all the warmth you need with out anything extra. I wear this hat alot of the times or at least have it on in the early morning. I think it is top notch. It gets wet and still keeps my head warm...its made out of merino wool just like the great socks that Filson makes.

Hunting, or just shooting a bow any hat with any type of bill really messes up my shooting! Even a crushable hat or short bill breaks my concentration by drawing my attention to the possibility of the string touching the bill.My solution is to wear no hat at all!
