BD,
We're doing an outfitted hunt and the outfitter supplies the ground blinds over a large area at really productive waterholes.
Pretty sure he has the largest style Eastman blinds which I think are 67" center height. 62" would really be pushing it even with some cant I think.
I could probably get away with a 58" comfortably but really wanted to be sure I'm not taking something I can't use out of them.
I don't really like the idea of spot and stalk because my true effective range is probably 18 yards and under. I tried stalking them last time I was out and for me to get 18 yards from a good buck undetected would be about a miracle. We're going first week in September so the rut really won't be kicking in yet and decoys won't really be an option but I appreciate the offer. I know he has some nice small intimate waterholes where they can get under 10 yards while they drink. That's what I'm really hoping for. [:-]

I know I shoot a shorter bow actually pretty well. I can stack arrows with my buddy's Bear Kodiak Mag and it's only 54". I didn't realize that some of the take down models are sensitive at the connection points.

I'll figure something out! Even if it's buying or borrowing some 58" limbs for my Black widow.
I think those extra 4-6" is going to make a big difference in shot opportunities all around the inside of those blinds.

hell just take a crossbow and be done with it

outfitted hunts they probably don't want you decoying and spot and stalk much because it'll run the 'lope around a bit and all. Maybe not, depending on land they have to hunt etc.

decoying and spot/stalk is the funnest way to hunt by far, I imagine waterhole is more productive over a weeks period.

if you shot that Kodiak Mag well, buy an EBAY one, hunt with it, keep it a few weeks then back to EBAY and not lose a dime.

offer stands on that decoy BTW, just let me know

Well I got the Morrison in today, and yeah it's really nice. Nice lines, nice tones to the woods, great feel and I CAN'T USE IT!!![:@][:@]

Seriously, I tried drawing it slowly and it feels like I'll pull it right off the hinges if I bring it back to 30ish".
It's just not going to do it without me breaking something.

I like the style and feel of it better than my Black Widow so it looks like Frank got himself a nice yet "cheap" custom recurve, and I'll take that $$$ and see if I can find a 60ish" Morrison or Robertson to play with.

BUMMER.

You have any pictures of the extreme? Whats the riser?I thought you liked it?

I can't believe how good my zipper shoots. I wouldn't mind to have oneof thier standard curley maple models.

I had it, loved it ....... my buddy wanted it at the same time I got my all bamboo Zipper and I let him have it

I can't afford 2 bows right now, or I'd buy it back.

Bocote/purpleheart/cocobolo maybe in the riser ? bocote veneers, like a matte instead of glossy finish ..... 9.5 of 10 best I remember - NICE Zipper

Uh oh........I've struck again. LOL

My best friend loved the Morrison Shawnee, so much so that he shot roughly 3 million arrows Saturday when I showed him it. I couldn't pry it out of his hands so I pried some cash out of him instead.

So with cash in hand, I've added another bow to the stable. totally different direction vs the little 56" Shawnee recurve.

Stay tuned.LOL
