Need advice: Traditional or Compound
#11
I think it is a wise choice to start with a compound. Compound archery is far easier than trad, although trad is far less complex. I have shot compound for the last 18 years, and purchased my first trad bow this spring. I will still hunt with my compound for this season, but my recurve has presented a challenge that I have not felt in about 17 years when it come to archery. Once you think you have learned a thing or two about archery, go and buy a trad bow, and I guarantee it will be like starting from scratch.

Well, the most important thing for hunting with it is, What range can you effectively harvest an animal with one clean shot. Typically, this is done with the compound bow. The compound bow takes more accesories to set up, but once set up correct is set and ready at will. A traditional bow, will take a little while to shoot for hunting acurately, and you must shoot often to stay tuned in your brain. It boils down to this what ethics are you willing to put forth for hunting and there is no short cut to be good with tackle.
