Default question

How fast would a traditonal fiberglass 49# bow go? i mean , how fast would the arrow travel? and could i hunt deer with it?

There's alot of variables that come into play as far as speed is concerned.Bow design,string material,your draw length,your release,arrow weight--all could have an effect on speed.But to answer your other question--Yes,a 49# bow will kill a deer as long as you put the arrow where it should go.I'll be hunting with a 47# Black Widow longbow with a 450gr arrow this year for deer

A solid fiberglass limb willshoot slower than a laminated limb, but either one will be plenty powerful for deer hunting.

Yes that bow will work for deer and it will do it legally! My recurve is 49#s. I shoot a 520gr arrow. I have no idea what the speed is and I don't really care. I know its fast enough to kill a deer if I do my part.
