Although it is not the best product out there, we use Mimiwax Polyurethane.

Automotive clear coat, altho it's highly toxic during application. Take the bow to your local bump shop and have them spray a couple coats on. They'll probably do it for free while they've got a job in the spray booth.

I refinish wood for a living, and I can tell you without question, one of the best products out there is Kwick Kleen Fast Dry Polyurethane. It is the finish that is used on all Thunderstick bows and by several smaller company's. You can order it from their website or by phone. We spray it on all dining tables and any other pcs. that will be exposed to any form of moisture or humidity. It is pretty much "bullet proof" once it cures. If you don't own a spray gun they offer a brush on formula.
