Hope you all are having a great one! I have really enjoyed mine so far--yesterday was my monthly trip to Collierville, TN for the Lost Tribe tournament. Attendance was down, I'm sure due to the holiday weekend, turkey season, and it was pretty chilly, but those of us that attended had a ball! It was the annual "April Fool" shoot, and there were some interesting targets! Some were regular shots, but others........
On one target, you dropped a muzzleloader round ball in a funnel, which ran down a curled pipe to a coffee can. You had to drop the ball, get to the stake, and shoot before the ball hit the can or your shot didn't count. On another, you had to trade bows with someone in your group and shoot. Another had a wheel to spin to tell you what to do (close one eye, stand on one leg, etc.). Had a running rabbit target that ate my lunch with my selfbow AND longbow--grrrrrrrrr.........and a few other interesting shots!
The separate novelty shoot was one of my favorites. Drop a golf ball into a pipe. The ball rolls down the pipe and drops out on a trigger. When the ball falls and trips the trigger, it yanks a string. On the other end of the string is a tack which pins a playing card to the target. If you don't shoot quick enough, the card is gone before your arrow gets there! Each hit gets your name in the bucket for a drawing for the prize.
Well, I had one more lucky day--won selfbow and men's longbow, and my name was pulled for the novelty shoot prize--that will never happen again! Yesterday's trophies were a really nice hat pin (never would have thought of that), and the novelty prize was a big collapsablecooler. Gave one pin to a friend, gave the cooler to another, kept one pin to put in my shop somewhere. I was telling one of my good friends about it (also an archer, who I shoot with as much as I can) and he asked "Were you the only one there????" [:@]
Today my wife has cooked up a feast for the family, so in a few I'll be sitting down to a big ham, chicken and dressing, and all the trimmings--man, I feel like it's Christmas!
Anyhow, just wanted to share my great weekend--hope everyone has been so fortunate!
Also, if you ever get a chance to go shoot with the gang at Lost Tribe, you won't regret it--I drive over 2 hrs (one way) because it's that good! Usually there's a lot more people there to shoot with. In September the club will be raffling off a brand new custom Crusader longbow for their annual charity shoot. Hope to see some of you there!

Congrautlations! The shoot sure sounds like a lot of fun. And hopefully someone handed you a right handed bow.
