Longbow... wood or aluminum?
If you shoot a longbow, do you use wood or aluminum arrows and why? Do you shoot off the shelf, hand or rest? Thanks!

RE: Longbow... wood or aluminum?
I shoot carbons and aluminums-depends on the bow

RE: Longbow... wood or aluminum?
I wrestled with this question for the same reason. I decided to go with aluminium. Like bigcountry said, they are more consistent. Would really love to shoot cedars personally, but I want to be as accurate as I can, so I felt aluminiums were the way to go. I like the Easton Legacys. At least they have the wood-grain look.

RE: Longbow... wood or aluminum?
I'm just getting my Bear Cub tuned well. I am shooting 2016 alauminums. I may try wood later when I get some shafts made. But for now I will stick with alum. For me they are easier to tune and I need things as simple as I can get them.

RE: Longbow... wood or aluminum?
I pretty much shoot aluminums on my longbows and recurves. At some point though I'd like to try some Grizzly Sticks.

Woods and carbons.
I prefer wood. Just love to see a nice cedar flying. I shoot carbons with added weight tubes as well. |
RE: Longbow... wood or aluminum?
I have never used wieght tubes. how do you install them?I guess you glue them in at a location where your desired FOC is? I wouldn't mind to try some of the carbons classics with the fake wood grain but I need over 530gr total wieght.
