Shorter recurve recs.?

Default Shorter recurve recs.?

Im having some trouble with the compound convertion to recurve,mainly the lenth.Do you recomend any shorter recurves?,I think id rather have a takedown.

Shorter recurves can have problems with stacking and finger pinch. If you have a shorter draw length, youmay be able togo shorter, but if you have a 29-30" draw length, I'd recommend 60" at least. With some limb designs you can godown to,say 58" or so.But, you'd have to try them out. A longer bow is smoother to shoot and has a better cast. I shoot a 62" recurve out of tree stands all the time without any problem whatsoever.

Just being honest here, but, I wouldn't recommend a shorter recurve bow to a beginner.

Short bows are going to be harder to tune and less forgiving of form mistakes. They are nice in tight spots, but harder to learn with.

How short you can go will depend on the bow design and your draw length. Even if you have a very short draw, I wouldn't go with anything shorter than a 58".
