Tuc, mishandled to the point of someone falling? I think what suprises me the most is the "durablility" that widow claims. Guess we proved that one wrong, two fold! Btw, did I tell you we were in waist deep snow? Not hard ground...oh ya, forgot, I did say we were snowmobiling!

Lamb,

He was looking into the hunter II's already. I put the thought in his brain awhile back. When he was here we looked at some of the pics I could scrounge up from here, Chads site, and a few other places I have found that had pictures. He's also looking at a blank from Locust creek bows. I figure the way my wood bow luck has gone it aint worth wounding a moose with a hunk of wood, that or go on a 15 day hunt again only to have my bow fail by day 2! So for now my crusaders are going to be THE bow.

Dan I have that hunter II down here in Anchorage that he could try out, got 60-72 lb limbs for it. I haven't heard from you in a while but I'd still like to get together, maybe do some predator calling or hit one of the 3d shoots one of these weekends.

Dan, sounds like a pretty good blow if it also cracked the riser on your longbow? Of course you already knew that longbows are less apt to be damaged by twisting a limb when under tension. Heck, maybe if I wreck my truck someday Ford will just send me a new one! Ya know, I've never heard anyone sound so cheerful about a mishap that damaged a friends (fairly expensive) equipment. Glad neither of you were hurt tho.

BTW, where does BW claim any extra durabity? I must'a missed that'n...

I can't see BW (or any other bowyer) being liable for an accident? If it had been your crusader, should Marc fix it for free?
Just one of those things. Best thing is, none of you were hurt!

vic my riser has been cracked for some time. I found it awhile back, notice the date differences in the posts between this and my crack. ALso you can see the water damage in the crack, an almost black color in the light wood, not something that is new!

one t hing you guys keep forgetting, 16"es of snow, not concrete, not hard forest floor, and that the bow was cleared of us and the snowmobile which should have landed in this snow! Also this isnt the first bow to break the exactly same way....but heck who cares, I killed one, atlesat it wasnt a post on "Damaged a Widow tonite and LOST it har har har"

I havent seen this video, but have heard it enough that there must be some truth to it...where the guys at widow take a limb and double it over like a fishing pole......

oh btw, welcome back Vic, as I can see we aint gonna do nuttin but argue as usual! Welcome home bro.....

and one thing yall havent seemed to understand..I sure as heck aint holding Bw liable for his bow.....never said it once!

What I keep saying it this durablitiy factor they so claim. I'll get ya more info on where this doubling over of the limb was viewed at here in a few, still a lil early in the north country

Btw, atleast one other person sees the humor in what could have been a real bad situation....

Seems to be some misunderstandings here.

First, I talked to Dan's friend the other day, and he didn't express any hard feelings at all towards BW, nor did he say anything about expecting them to replace his limbs. He bought one bow and two sets of limbs used, then bought a new riser to make two bows. He doesn't seem to be interested in buying new limbs though.

I'll go out on a limb and say that I beleive the toughness that is expressed about the limbs is in the BW video. Ater watching the part where Bill steps on the limb and bends it way over backwards, if you didn't know any better you would get the impression you could use a BW limb for a prybar and not hurt it. This is a big peeve with me towards BW. In my opinion it is very misleading.

Dan's riser didn't get cracked in the accident. He had already discovered it when he removed the leather grip, and is not sure how long it has been there, or how many times the bow has been shot with it there. Marc has offered to try and repair it. This particular bow is several years old and has changed hands a time or three--Dan got it used.

As for Dan's attitude towards his friend's misfortune, well,......he can be a sadistic bugger--lol. Nobody was injured which is the important thing, and he seems to be making light of it for aggravation. Heck, I have a few friends that would do the same thing to me. His buddy didn't know I had already talked with Dan earlier, and he told me the same thing about Dan's new nickname--he was taking it all very lightly as well.

Just remember, you loose a lot of the meaning behind what is said on these screens--what might make you grin in person can aggravate the snot out of you here. Also lots of details that we don't know.

Interesting side note about a "toughness" video.
Back when the earth's crust was still cooling, I was a hunting and fishing guide in Florida. Shakespear came out with a rod they called the "ugly stick" and claimed they were about unbreakable. Well, they came to big Toho marina and made a video commercial, showing the guy snagging the tip in the dock, banging it with a boat, ect. they got the commercial made, but went through a good dozen rods doing it!! hehe
