Default Paging Chad, Paging Chad... Please report to customer service

Chad,

I've been throwing around the idea of trying a short longbow(oxymoron) I have a 26inch draw and maybe I could benefit from shooting a shorter bow. Besides, 64 inches is tough to handle in the woods....

Does Checkmate make a short longbow and if so what is your opinion on them.....

Thanks

The closest they have to a "short" longbow would be one of the flatbows. Marc made a 60" version of the Crusader for a fellow with a 25" or 26" draw, and the customer prefers the longer one he has. I think it looses something when you gotoo short--the way it'sbuilt, the working part of the limb is shorter than it appears. Itworks like it has a long riser, but doesn't have that appearance (keeps it legal for tournaments). You can get a Cruasader in a 62", or you can go as short as 58" with either of the flatbows. The Thunderbird is similar in design to the Crusader; it just has shorter, wider limbs.

I have a Thunderbird- if you go to Tradgang and do a search for Thunderbird along with my handle (Windknot) you should find the review and pics.

My chrono should arrive in the next day or two- I can post some numbers then.

Chad- my Hunter II has arrived- WOW!! Fantastic bow- I'll give you a ring today.
