Too lite for hogs?
I might be going to Tenn. this January to hunt pigs and I was wondering if my 48# curve would get the trick done. Im planning on assembling some arrows in the 500 grainarea (weight tubes in carbons). I'll be shooting 125 grain2-Blade Magnus'. Is this on the light side? Im more than a bit worried about that plate of muscle and gristle Ive heard so much about on thier side...can I do it?
Aside from my gear, is it too early for me to go after hogs after killing my first deer with a trad bow just 8 days ago?

i HAVE SHOT MANY MANY HOGS WITH MY hOWATT 40 RECURVE, IT IS ALL SHOT PLACEMENT, FIRST YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SHOOT A HOG ON HIS HUMP, YOU WILL AIM FOR THE LUNGS RIGHT BEHIND THE FRONT LEG, THAT AMO IS OK,I PREFERED THE ZWICKEYS 125, bUT MAGNUS IS A GOOD POINT JUST SHARPEN IT UNTIL IT CUTS A PAPER LIKE A RAZOR.

Wow Bowshopper, that'll work...
Thanks...
Putting together arrows now, starting with 2512 aluminums with 3/8" Ramin wood dowels, Im leaving em long and with heavy points (150gr) to account for the massive spine overkill. If they dont work ( Im afraid they wont fly well because of the spine) Im going to go to carbons and weight tubes...any other ideas...
Thanks...

A good heavy carbon without the need for weight tubes is the cabelas outfitter series 45/60(carbon express). They weigh around 13grains/inch. Cost less than $60 /dozen bare shafts.
