for bowhunting?

I only shoot 45#s, so it's not like I'm gonna lose a finger

Or is it?

If you can get a good release without one, go for it. That's one less thing you will have to worry about loosing/leaving behind/tearing up.

I shoot my 45# carp bow bare fingers all the time. But, generally I have to wear some sort of gloves to camo my hands when bowhunting anyway. Where a tight-fitting leather glove on your shooting hand.

What Chad said. Uh... What Wingbone said too.[&:] Both are right. If your fingers are tough enough to shoot without a glove or tab, then there is no reason to use one for hunting. You can camo your hand with face paint or wear a camo glove with the fingertips cut off. If you're gonna wear a glove though, might as well be a shooting glove.

Indians didn't use shooting gloves or tabs.

Thanks fellas. I was thinking of a cotton jersey glove with the fingertips cut off. My main issue now is I don't have the jack for a better glove, and the one I have the finger stalls are too short and when I deep hook sometimes the string gets behind the middle finger stall.

Has anyone tried shooting with a cotton jersey glove without the fingertips cut off? How's the release?

Rangeball...

I have a damascus glove that I no longer use that I will send you if you like. BUT, I did cut the tip off the middle finger so I could feel my anchor better. It probably needs a little sewing to keep it from unraveling, but otherwise is a very good glove.

I also have a little cheap walmart glove that you can have. It's nothing special, but I'll send it your way if you wantit.

Just let me know.
