Default What do you guys consider your selfs?

A hunter, an outdoorsman, or a woodsam. I guess it lies in the definition, but this is what I think. I am an outdoorsmen working on my degre in woodsman ship. I think to be called a woodsman is the highest honor a hunter can receve. I do hunt butthat is far from all I do in the woods, not a day goes by that I dont do something in the woods, weather it be in my backyard or way off the map. I know alot of "hunters" but Idont know anyone I would consider awoodsman. I wish I had someone around who knew the woods real well, my old man is good but he isnt a greatoutdoorsman.

I'm nowhere nearskilled enough to be a woodsman , I don't participate in enough outdoor activities to be an outdoorsman , so I guess I'm just a hunter who really enjoys his time in the woods.

I used to consider myself a woodsman, back when I was single. One of my favorite things was to go on a 'survival camp' taking nothing but a big honkin' knife into the woods and staying for a week or two. But it's been nearly 30 years since I've done that and my woodsmanship skills aren't near what they used to be. So, I guess I'm just an outdoorsman now.[&:]

I don't consider myself woods-wise enuff to "qualify" for any sorta catagory.

I reckon I'm just an archery nut who loves bowhunting & enjoys the bounty of the wild places that God gave us.

I just consider myselflucky. Lucky to be able to help my children enjoy hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and some ofthe values that have been lost in the "improvements" of modern life.

All good responces. Delores I to feel lucky for what I have, not everyone has the opertunity to get out in the woods as much as me (this job dose get in the way alittle), and I cant wait tell I have some kids to take in the woods with me and teach them what I have been taught and learned first hand. AP once a woodsman alwees a woodsman. Me and a freind did that once but wehad fishing rods with us and a tarp, made for somehungre days but was the most fun I have ever had. When all ya have is a small Trout for dinner it sure tastes good, under cooked and all.

Keep the responses comming

I'm just a student enrolled in the school of outdoors and I hope to die that way. I guess you could call me a traditional bowhunter if you see me in the woods.
