I began to think the other day if I was a passive or aggressive bowhunter. I started thinking about some areas of bowhunting. I'd like to hear others talk about the list I am going to put below. Sort of a learning thing for me. Scale of 1 to 10...1 being passive meaning you don't really care or won't do, 10 being the most aggressive or things you do like crazy. Just copy and paste the post below and put your score in bold numbers at the end of each item if you wish.
1) Aggressive scent control (ie no smoking/clothes washed constantly in unscented/rubber boots, etc)
2) Rattling
3) Calling
4) Invading bedding areas
5) Fastest Bow--need speed
6) Largest broadhead
7) Scent trail/drag/tarsal glands,etc
8) Camo(no camo is a 1, full symmetric camo is a 10 with face mesh, gloves, etc.)
9) Hunting all day( 1 is short hunting maybe 2 hours, 10 is an all day sit--your average hunt length over the season)
10) Do you hunt in the rain/wind/elements if necessary? (1 being dry warm conditions only...10 being the roughest weather around---this is not a one time hunt,. rather this is what you would be willing to hunt in for like 1-2 weeks if need be)

I don't consider that stuff all that aggressive. I do most of those things. A buddy of mine is really agressive. If he sees deer moving along a path 50yds away he immediatly moves his lone wolf into that position( takea about 20min) and more often than not has killed deer that way. Being willing to move stands at a moments notice is aggressive. He doesn't rattle or call or use scents.

1) Other than just proper hygiene and washing my clothes in baking soda, I don't fool with it. 2
2) Rattling. Never done it. 1
3) Calling. Only in certain circumstances. 3
4) Invading bedding areas. Aggressive in spot and stalk situations. 5
5) Fastest bow? Hardly! I prefer recurves and longbows. 2
6) Largest broadhead? I'll use the largest broadhead I trust to penetrate adequately. 5
7) Scent stuff? Never messed with it. 1
8) Camo... For birds yes. 10. For deer? No. Just plain clothes in woodsy colors. 1.5
9) Hunting all day. Used to. Now that I'm older I'm less able to do that. 5
10) I'll hunt in almost any weather as long as it's not too wet. I consider hunting in weather that'll wash away or otherwise obliterate a blood trail to be patently unethical. 7
You can consider the questions where I assigned a '1' to actually be zeros.
