Questions on trilpe seven pellets
I am running a CVA elkhorn inline and looking to use the triple seven pellets for this hunting season behing my powerbelt bullets.
Anyhow I picked up a box of pellets yesterday 50/cal 50 grain but when I got home I noticed they said for use with 209 primers only. is there a different one I need to look for to use #11 (209's are illegal here in idaho for my hunt)
I tried digging around hodgdon's website but didnt find anything that listed which pelets I should use with the #11 caps.
Thanks!

RE: Questions on trilpe seven pellets
My experience with No. 11 caps and pellets is that it does not work well at all. The only way thati could get the pellets to light offwas to load about five grains of granular powder before loading the pellets.
Better to use loose powder with No. 11 caps.

RE: Questions on trilpe seven pellets
Well to start with you are better off tostay from 777 in your circumstances. But that said you can make it work by puting 10 or 15 gr of loose black priming powder[ FFF or FFFF] down first so the #11 fires the black powder which will instantly fire the 777. with #11 caps Black powder is a good choice as it ignites at a much lower tempture.
