Definitely not hype.....I've been shooting them for a year and love them. I didn't have any problems with my previous set-up, but I liked the idea that I could decrease the overall weight of the arrow a bit. Once shot, I realized one of the biggest advantages is sound. The blazers are a lot quieter than standard vanes. Give them a whirl, you won't be dissappointed.

Sound is definatley a reason why I am sticking with the blazers. I switched from 4 in. feathers and they shoot the same but are so much quieter, esepecially when your feather's get tattered and noisy.
