Default Fred Bear TRX

I have a Fred Bear TRX and wish install a NAP Quicktune 4000 on it. It came with a lower cable guard, for the NAP 4000 I need an upper cable guard. It has the 3/8 hole for the cable guard, non-threaded I believe, do you know where or what manufacturer makes a cable guard that will fit this bow if any. I looked at Martin Archery and they make one that may work but I'm not sure, just throught I'd see if I can get any information on here before I try that. Thanks for the Information...

are you saying this has a extra hole in the riser above the rest shelf?you should notice if it is taped.if not then its just a solid rod with a set screw or some bow companys even epxoyed them in.I would need to see a pic.

Yes, this is an extra hole in the riser above the rest shelf. It does have a hole for a set screw, so I'm sure it's for the cable guard but I'm having troubles finding a cable guard. This years Fred Bear bows have the upper cable guard. I went to a few shops and they only had threaded rods. Would a threaded rod work if I just put in a set screw? Or should I keep looking for a non-threaded cable guard. I would give you a picture but I have no digital camera. Thanks for the information!

as long as its the same diameter probably 3/8 it would bet then it wouldn't matter if its threaded.
