Default NAP 4000 and Allegiance

Something I noticed and wanted to share with everyone.

Since I am waiting on my Alliegiance to get here, I am getting all my accesories together for it. I have been using a NAP 4000 drop away for the past few years and have grown quite fond of this little rest. I have heard some indication that this rest, along with some others will not work on the Bowtechs because of lack of windage adjustment. I was toying around with my NAP last night and discovered that there is a second threaded hole in the bar the prong block screws fast to allowing you to move the entire prong block out approx 1/4". This should be enough to give plenty of windage to the left.

I really hope this rest does work. If not, I actually plan on contacting NAP to see if they will come up with some type of fix for this.

Just wanted to make all the Bowtechers aware of this.

Muzzyman!

I like the 4000 drop away rest ,but have you given any consideration to trying the Muzzy Zero Effect? I have one on my 04 Patriot Dually and I just love it ,I'm sure that this will be the rest I'll be using for a very long time and when I get a new bow next season I'll be putting it on tht bow as well. Thank's for that tip as well ,my buddy has the 4000 on his Extreme VFT and it work's great as well.

I do have the Muzzy in the back of my mind. I may end up going to a TT if the NAP doesn't work though. But, I am pretty confident the discovery I made will work well.

I have the NAP QT 4k on my '04 Liberty and I really like it. As far as drop-aways go, I don't see anything better out there. I have no problem adjusting the windage or elevation. Maybe the '05s are different, but I doubt it.

However, I do plan on going to a Whisker Biscuit for hunting, though. Full, quiet containment just can't be beat when you're in the stand. (or the blind, for that matter)

I also have the QT4000 on an 04 Liberty and this works well. I don't see that the sight window is any different between the Liberty and the Allegiance, so you should be ok. I shoot some Blazer vanes with the cock down and find that they still ever so slightly touch the rest after the rest has dropped away. Not serious enough for me to do anything about it - my arrow paper shoots as good as you'll get it and I shoot very acceptable 3D scores.

So thumbs up for this sight on your Allegiance.

The 4000 wouldn't go far enough left on my Old Glory. It works fine on the 04s, though. Center shot on the E cam bows is a good bit farther left (RH bow) than the 04 bows. I haven't measured c shot on the OG, so don't know how much exactly. A Trophy Taker should work with the wide bar, and the HHA TN-1000 works fine on my OG.

pdq, did you play with the extra adjustment on the 4000? You get an additional 1/4" or so when you slide the prong block to the next hole left on the post. That may be the ticket.

Yep, I moved the launcher over. Still not enough adjustment.

I tried it on my Allegience. Won't go far enough left for me - even when the prongs are moved to the left most hole.

Holy crap........How big is the cut out on these things?

So, this means I have to buy a new rest. Looks the TT is my next best choice...i guess.
