Elk,
Not trying to tell you what to do but, imo, the PSE Gorilla from the custom shop and Bowman Accu-Riser are both superior bows to the Mathews Safari for shooting ultra heavy arrows from 80 to 100lb limbs.
The Gorilla weighs 5 1/2lbs and is extremely rugged but not in the same class as the Bowman.
Stewart makes a standard Accu-Riser II that goes 5lbs and an extra heavy version that goes 6 1/2lbs.
I have both versions and nicknamed my heavy version "Hercules" because it it Battleship strong.
It's the strongest built compound of all time.
The Gorilla goes for around $1,000.00 and so does the Bowman.
The Bowman is the far superior bow and much the better buy, jmo.
Here is a pic of Hercules.

The new Moon bow with the long Mathews style riser and parallel limbs would suit your needs too.
It has Barnsdale limbs and since Dave builds them to 100lbs and more, this bow can be had with them.
The only down side, the Moon bow goes for $2,000.00
It weighs 6lbs and has a type 3 anodized finish.
The best finish in the industry.
The MOON bow has no limb pockets as they are integral.
It is the strongest built long riser parallel limb bow available.
Here is a pic of the riser as it's not quite available yet.

wow- neat stuff- especia;;y the bowman bow.
I shoot a patriot dual cam at 73 lbs. It spits a 475 grain arrow at a legitmate 270. Pretty good, but not an "all angles" bow like my buddys. He shoots 90 lbs. He slings a 650 grain 2419 at 260 and shoots deer at "all angles". I firmly believe you should shoot as much weight as you can.

Have A thought as to the arguement why not. I am able to ge to matthews site this late in the evening But believe that most of there bows now are ajustable to 65% let off (for P&Y) which in something like the new SwitchBack with a 7" braceheight @ 70# would definitly transferr into that heavy hitter long as keep shooting something in the +10 gpi arrow (not broad head) plus the broadhead at say 125 grains.
My thinking is this a 65% your letoff is not a great meaning there is more push off the release and the 7" brace height is a longer push on a 30" arrow...More K.E. Just my interpation.
good luck
Greg

Here is a link with some of the specs on the Safari, http://www.archery.ch/mathews/safaricustom.htm It's not in english but you can get most of the details.
Here is a picture of the bow, as you can see it is very heavy duty!

OB,
The Safari does look well built.
It looks like a Mathews on steroids.
Heard it was a beefed up 2QXL
The Mathews Pro Star is really massive too.
If I got a Mathews, I would want the Pro Star just to have something unique.

Hi Sag. I saw a Safari 2 years ago at the ATA show & it was a really beefed up bow. It was kind of a strange bow, it's kind of a mix between a Q2XL & a Conquest. The cam is 65% and very close in design to the Max Cam used on the Conquest. It was a heck of a heavy duty bow thats for sure, too heavy in my opinion for your average hunter to lug around all day in the woods! In fact everything about the Safari was beefed up! I am sure the Gorilla & the Samson by Bowtech are both great "Safari" bows.
Those Moon's look nice, I e-mailed back & forth with him a while back over on AT. He seems like a really dedicated guy, I hope he has luck getting out of the starting gate. I am afraid he won't do too well, just way to expensive and I am afraid he won't be able to handle any warranty issues in a fast manner. I would be more inclined to get a Bowman with some custom Barnesdale limbs, I feel they could handle any warranty issues in a faster turn around. I also think Barnesdale makes a heck of a limb & he is on track from his early days Pearson. They had some really inventive products when the Pearson family had Pearson in Little Rock. I also think his concept with the Moon riser is sound but to be honest the camo will kill it. Woodland camo is viewed as a "cheap" camo anymore instead of a high quality product (we all know it still works great!). He also tends to be a bit too much like an AR in geometry which I know he took some major BS over on AT. I do wish him well with his bow/project. When are you going to design a bow? I bet you could team up with Bowman & make a heck of a bow design!
So how are things down south? did you guys get much of that snow storm the week of x-mas? We got some major snow out of it up here in No. KY. I bet you guys are getting some bad flooding right now too.....the Ohio is getting up out of it's banks & it always gets worse down river.
Take care & Happy New Year!

OB,
Flooding hasn't been too bad in my immediate area but Southern Idiana is not doing well.
But expect more rain so who knows what will happen ?
I like the Moon bow's camo but most guys like the fancy but less durable dipped finishes.
I much prefer a hardcoat finish that's almost wear proof.
But the $2,000.00 price will be a big hurdle.
I would jump on it if it were $1,000.00
A few guys have asked Stewart to bring out a conventional riser in the past but he says it would infringe on patents to do so.
I don't see how if it's his own idea though.
I guess, he doesn't want to get away from his trademark swivel grip.
Almost like Mathews offering a dual or cam .5
You have a great new year too !

Just a thought, but for that hard finish you want, why not get it sprayed with Rhino lining or LineX like they used in truck beds, they're both practically indestructable, and would keep the bow in great shape.
