RE: mathews safari
Hi Sag. I saw a Safari 2 years ago at the ATA show & it was a really beefed up bow. It was kind of a strange bow, it's kind of a mix between a Q2XL & a Conquest. The cam is 65% and very close in design to the Max Cam used on the Conquest. It was a heck of a heavy duty bow thats for sure, too heavy in my opinion for your average hunter to lug around all day in the woods! In fact everything about the Safari was beefed up! I am sure the Gorilla & the Samson by Bowtech are both great "Safari" bows.
Those Moon's look nice, I e-mailed back & forth with him a while back over on AT. He seems like a really dedicated guy, I hope he has luck getting out of the starting gate. I am afraid he won't do too well, just way to expensive and I am afraid he won't be able to handle any warranty issues in a fast manner. I would be more inclined to get a Bowman with some custom Barnesdale limbs, I feel they could handle any warranty issues in a faster turn around. I also think Barnesdale makes a heck of a limb & he is on track from his early days Pearson. They had some really inventive products when the Pearson family had Pearson in Little Rock. I also think his concept with the Moon riser is sound but to be honest the camo will kill it. Woodland camo is viewed as a "cheap" camo anymore instead of a high quality product (we all know it still works great!). He also tends to be a bit too much like an AR in geometry which I know he took some major BS over on AT. I do wish him well with his bow/project. When are you going to design a bow? I bet you could team up with Bowman & make a heck of a bow design!
So how are things down south? did you guys get much of that snow storm the week of x-mas? We got some major snow out of it up here in No. KY. I bet you guys are getting some bad flooding right now too.....the Ohio is getting up out of it's banks & it always gets worse down river.
Take care & Happy New Year!
